MTV Event Platform – 2016 MTV VMA
An MTV Video Music Award (commonly abbreviated as a VMA) is an award presented by the cable channel MTV to honor the best in the music video medium. We develop the platform to support our linear program and live streams. I worked on 2015 and 2016 VMA. After 2015 VMA, we did performance analysis, user research and ux workshop, then we decided to improve our event 2.0 platform experience to pre-show, live stream and post show phases to better engage our fans to the whole VMA experience.
My role: product designer – from sketching & workshop to wireframe & final design and also shipped design system
UX workshop & wireframing
Organized a workshop included pms, designers, producers and marketers to define the goal and draw quick concepts
Here are site map & wireframes I got together after the workshop
Design & Prototype
Before The Show: more than half of the traffic goes to Voting Pages – fans support
During The Show: most of the traffic goes to this Live Streaming Page
Post Show: Focus on show content (videos, photos, always-on news)
Design System
I coded this design system with html & CSS for 2016 VMA's style. * Some content is hided due to confidentiality.
