Moda Operandi Shopping Experience
Moda Operandi is an online luxury fashion retaile, whose investors include LVMH and CondeNast. Product goal is to create luxury fashion shopping experience for high-end customers and also allow customers preorder items directly from designers immediately after their runway show.
My role: product designer, features includes: register, filter, search, trunk show and design system, etc.
Designer Process Example: Filter
Goal: help user quickly narrow down options based on style, size, color and brands.
Step 1 – Quickly brainstorm options
List out all the options and quickly discuss & identify possible solutions with design director.
Step 2 – Wireframing Flows
Option 1: swipable carousels -> swipe to pick clothing categories -> pick level 2 categories, like “Evening style in Dress”
* Pros: always display all the options; Cons: have to load 2 pages to get to exact level 2 categories
Option 2: use iPhone selection wheel ->
* Pros: always allow users select on the same page; Cons: have to load the wheel to see options
Step 3 – Design & Prototype
We decided to move on with option 2 and I quickly mocked up with both desktop & mobile versions.
Step 4 – Design all Scenarios
Sync up with engineers again and mock up all the solutions for different scenarios
Other Features – Search Designer
Help users quickly search with characters and give users hint of the results (during fashion week will show pre-order ends time)
Other Features – Transactional Emails
Informative about all transactional info & Help users to understand what to do/expect
